First of all I would like to tell that this theory includes kratos real brother so if you are annoyed by all the discussions of kratos brother then dont read any further. You have been warned!
Possible spoilers from GOW3
"Spartans never fall on their back, right brother?" I guess you all have read about this line in the forums. My theory is that this is what his real brother tells him in the past when they were both young and training as Spartan warriors.
I think that in GOW:Gos there will be a flashback to kratos past were kratos is training with his younger brother. His brother has no chance of winning aginst Kratos who is taking the spartan training to a level far beyond what he alone is capable of. And when his brother gets his ass kicked over and over again KRATOS says to him: "Spartans never fall on their back!!"
His brother really tries to be just as strong as his brother but he always fails. He gets so angry because he´s never good enough for Kratos ( he is weak in kratos eyes ) And while Kratos is getting closer to becoming a real spartan warrior, his brother is not even close to that. Kratos is then starting to push away his weaker brother because he´s dissapointed in him. So in a later event his brother gets so mad and jealous that he cuts kratos in the face ( giving him that scar) when he´s not ready.( Maybe in his sleep? ) And when kratos is laying on his back holding his hand over his face his brother tells him: "Spartans never fall on their back, right brother?" Because thats what Kratos has been telling him for years...
This betrayal will make Kratos stop caring for his own brother and that is why he leaves him to die and rot in hell...
So what do you guys think? How did kratos get that scar?
