God of War 3 10 Godly Possessions - Find all 10 Godly Possessions in God of War 3. These Godly Possessions can be equipped as "cheats" once you beat the game. Here are the effects of each Godly Possession. You can toggle these godly possessions on or off in the Items Menu AFTER BEATING THE GAME once you collect them. Warning: Equipping a Godly Possession disables Trophies.

  • Zeus' Eagle - Infinite Rage of Sparta
  • Hades' Helm - Max out Health, Magic and Item Meters
  • Helios' Shield - Increase the Hits Counter by 3 times
  • Hermes' Coin - Collect 10 time the amount of Red Orbs
  • Hercules' Shoulder Guard - Increase damage taken by a third
  • Poseidon's Conch Shell - Infinite Magic
  • Aphrodite's Garter - Continue to use Athena's Blades (the main weapon from the game's intro / while active, switch to another weapon to Combat Grapple)
  • Hephaestus' Ring - Automatically win all Context Sensitive Attacks ("Quick Time Events")
  • Daedalus' Schematics - Infinite item use
  • Hera's Chalice - Causes the Health Meter to slowly drain over time, never completely emptying it

Start a new game on the same, or lower difficulty and all Godly Possessions become available. You have to turn them on from the Weapons/Items menu. Remember that using Godly Possessions or Costumes currently DISABLES Trophies. You cannot use all you're upgraded items you will have to gain them as you progress. To activate the possessions go to the item menu (select) then on the page with minotaur horns, gorgon eyes ect it will have all of the godly possessions go over one and turn it on (this will disable trophies for the entire play through, even if you turn off the possession later)

Check this page for more God of War 3 Cheats and Codes. Or see all God of War 3 Tutorials

Here is a quick-reference list of each Godly Possession.

Zeus' Eagle - Heart of Gaia, in front of the heart, climb the vines up and to the right and grab Zeus's Eagle.

Hades' Helm - After defeating Hades, swim to the bottom of the River Styx to snag Hades' Helm.

Helios' Shield After defeating Helios, search the ground just to the right of his corpse for Helios' Shield

Hermes' Coin After hitching a ride on boulder from the catapult, search the right side of the massive statue's decapitated head.

Hercules' Shoulder Guard After defeating your bro, dive beneath Hercules' floating corpse to find Hercules' Shoulder Guard.

Poseidon's Conch Shell Before leaving the Poseidon Princesses' chamber, search the pillows on the right side for Poseidon's Conch Shell.

Aphrodite's Garter Search the rear side of the room just to the left of the candles surrounding the bed. You may spot a glint of light on a platform behind the bed. Double-jump and float over into a secret area behind the bed to score Aphrodite's Garter.

Hephaestus' Ring After killing Hephaestus, search the far left side of the area (near the blocked doorway previously leading to Tartarus) for the massive Hephaestus' Ring.

Daedalus' Schematics Pull the lever on the right side of the room. Shoot out the gate with the the ballista. Shoot the harpoon through the portal on the far wall. Use The Boots of Hermes to run up the wall into the gold portal on the right. Yank the lever here and quickly head back below. A pair of chests will be lowered -- you can now use the Ballista to break the link that holds them up high. This will bring the chests to the ground. Inside one of the chests is Daedalus' Schematics.

Hera's Chalice Approach Hera at the maze entrance and you'll initiate a lengthy cutscene. After it ends, save and search the area just to the left of the save point for Hera's Chalice on the ground (a short cutscene will show Kratos picking it up).

See all or most of the glitches in the game without searching this whole forum. BEWARE OF SPOILERS! I suggest just replying to this post with your problem rather then reading this whole thread if you do not want to spoil the story. Basically post the following information about the glitch you are experiencing:

1. Details of the glitch/bug
2. Time of occurance (Where it happens)
3. PS3 Model: Fat or slim, HDD size
4. Version of game: Country/UE or Standard
5. Possible fixes

Even if a glitch has already been posted in this thread, please reply also if you are having a problem to see if there is similar data. As you can see, some glitches posted below are mostly incomplete. More information and Youtube videos of the glitches you experience could help. Thanks.

I am no longer going to post freezing problems in the list because everyone is freezing at an exactly different point. For that reason, I would have two pages full of freezing information that have no common location. I have receieved a message from a forum user that said he was able to finish the game by not saving until he was at Hermes. I would also recommend not saving at all if possible until you finish the game in case it really is a file save corruption that is causing these freezes.

GLITCHES/BUGS EXPERIENCED:

UNRESOLVED: There are no known fixes to this glitch.
RESOLVED: Has been officially fixed by Sony via a patch or update
POSSIBLE FIX: There are possible work arounds to temporary fix the glitch.
*IMPORTANT* is added when the glitch/bug causes you to not be able to continue your game.

Fallen Tree (POSSIBLE FIX)

Details: "Right at the very beginning of the game, on Gaia, during the first fight that gives the player control of Kratos. I beat the foes and moved to the fallen tree on fire blocking my path. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't figure out how to move the thing. A very strange glitch right out of the gate...not a good first impression." Also I noted from someone else that they had enemies free-falling out of the map in this area.

Time of occurance: Beginning of game
PS3 Model: 80GB Fat
Version of game: UE, Standard Edition
Possible Fixes: Restart from checkpoint

Double Jump (UNRESOLVED)

Details: "I find the double jump extremely glitchy all around. If you don't double-tap X very quickly, Kratos falls to his death, and it happens so frequently that I'm not sure if it's a glitch or just how they programmed the double-jump. Makes zero sense why I can't delay my first jump until I want, then double-tap for the double jump. Every other game with double-jump allows this, but in GoW3, if you don't double-tap quickly, you fall, you die. That's dumb." Reported twice.

Time of occurance: Always
PS3 Model: PS3 first generation 80GB unit with a new 500GB Seagate 7200 SATA drive installed, 60GB Fat
Version of game: UE (2)
Possible Fixes: None

Blackhole of Hades (POSSIBLE FIX)

Details: "Someone actually found a YouTube video with the exact problem I'm seeing. The video is a bit dark, so I'll describe a bit as well. The texture in the cave seems to replicate over itself every time the camera moves. If you move Kratos down the path he falls to his death.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHroUWhzsYI

Time of occurance: Gates of Judgement inside a cave "right after fighting stone statues with big square hammers"

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat PS3, 60GB Fat

Version of game: North America, standard and UE edition

Possible fixes: "The posts from the youtube page suggest that the save file is corrupted. If you restore from an earlier save, earlier enough that the autosave will do its thing, it should resolve the issue."

Visual Effect Bug/Glitch (UNRESOLVED)

Details: When playing I've noticed an odd visual effect. When I run left of right and the camera remains focused upon Kratos, he will have a halo (or slight double image if you will) that is especially noticeable around his head. It is most obvious when Kratos is close to the front of the screen (not in the distance where he is tiny) and when the scene is not dark or filled with action. The flame of Olympus chamber is a good area to try this. Go to the bottom where Kratos is at full size and the area is fairly well lit. Then run right and left to see what I mean.

Time of occurance: Always?

PS3 Model: Unknown

Version of game: Unknown

Possible fixes: None

Lip Syncing (UNRESOLVED)

Details: There seems to be a problem in lip syncing. The words are not matching up with the characters lips for some players. Also I get no lip movemtent when Hermes is yelling from the top of the Athena statue.

Time of occurance: Certain characters, Hermes on top of Athena statue.

PS3 Model: Unknown

Version of game: Canada/UE

Possible fixes: None

Optical Audio Glitch (UNRESOLVED)

Details: Game doesn't support optical audio output. Stereo and HDMI outputs do work. Doesn't appear to be a hardware issue; other people are reporting the same problem on other boards. Other games and movies do not have this problem. Note: I do not have this problem and I'm using optical audio as well. Game related glitch.

Time of occurance: As soon as game starts.

PS3 Model: 60GB Launch PS3 w/ 160GB Seagate 5400RPM HDD.

Version of game: UE; U.S. Version

Possible Fixes: None

Music Puzzle *IMPORTANT* (UNRESOLVED)

Details: "At the flames of Olympus area after solving the music puzzle...i go to turn the crank and it freezes. There is suppose to be a cinema but all i get is a close up of the chain and the music keeps looping. I can restart at the checkpoint and pause the game but nothing happens. Took the game back, got another copy and does the same thing." This issue is being experienced by many users. Another forum user posted this video on Youtube showing the glitch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__c3SoF71GA

Time of occurance: At the music puzzle

PS3 Model: 250GB Slim, 80GB Fat

Version of game: Standard US version of game, North America (2)

Possible Fixes: None have been found but replacing the game does not seem to work. Sounds like a possible game save corruption. Try to revert to an earlier save if possible. This may not work for it has not been tested.

Blackhole of the Labyrinth (POSSIBLE FIX)

Details: In the first room of the Labyrinth, when the room roates, if you jump while it's rotating, you will either die, or get stuck in limbo and the game does not continue.

Time of occurance: Labyrinth

PS3 Model: 60GB PS3

Version of game: North American Ultimate Edition

Possible Fixes: Restart at last checkpoint

Camera Focus Glitch (POSSIBLE FIX)

Details: "In the Upper Chamber of the Flame I turn the crank round when the camera moves and focuses on the giant chain across the room. The camera remains fixed on the chain and just doesn't move. I am still able to pause the game and reload from check point but every restart has the same results."

Time of Occurance: Upper Chamber of the Flame

PS3 Model: 40GB Model (320GB HDD inside) Fat.

Version of game: Standard edition bought in the UK

Possible Fixes: Regarding the glitch in the Upper Chamber of the Flame, the only fix I have been able is to basically start the game over again. I started again earlier today and I've just got past this part, no problem. I recommend keeping multiple saves (3 should do) as this could be something to with data corruption. Hope this helps.

Head of Helios Freeze (UNRESOLVED)

Details: "I am fairly certain this isnt only on my system but if i jump off of any elevated item ( I have done it on a chest numerous times ) while I am using the Head of Helios Solar Beam my system will completley freeze up, I have to hold down the power button and shut down my system to get it up and running again. This only happens when using that specific combo, my game has not frooze up at any other time. I have jumped off the first gorgon's eye chest in Hera's garden 3 times using the Solar beam and frooze my system 3 times and just jumped off of a raised platform using the beam and same issue."

Time of occurance: When jumping off elevated platform using Head of Helios' Beam

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat

Version of game: Unknown

Possible Fixes: None found. Probably needs a patch.

Graphical Bugs (UNRESOLVED)

Details: 1.) In Daedalus's study with all of the warp mirrors I was in the far back, upper room with the lever that operates the two large chests. I swung the Claws of Hades around and the entire screen turned a purplish-pink color before reverting back to normal. 2.) In the same room I noticed that if you hang on the rope while close to the lower platform Kratos' legs actually stick into/through the platform. 3.) In the hedge maze while using the "eye" the final time and climbing the stairs I was holding Helios' head and the light beam was emitting several inches higher than where the head actually was. 5.) When chasing Hermes the grapple point along the falling bridge works, but the blade then shoots up and appears to be way above the garpple point. I've had this happen each time I've done it.

Time of occurance: Inside Daedalus's study, Hermes Chase

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat (2)

Version of game: US/UE, Canda/UE

Possible Fixes: None

Audio Failure after Restart (UNRESOLVED)

Details: Sometimes after dying and restarting music would either fail to load at all or be delayed for several seconds before starting. (multiple areas)

Time of occurance: random after dying

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat

Verison of game: US/UE

Possible Fixes: None noted.

Grabbing With Your Back.... (UNRESOLVED)

Details: Sometimes Kratos will want to grab enemies that he isn't facing. For example, in the Bare Hands challenge, Kratos will grab the minotaurs like they have priotorty even though you are trying to grab a minion. Kratos always goes for the biggest enemy, which more often than not, is ungrabbable. Kratos will turn around and grab bigger enemy even if there is smaller in front of him and you push direction stick towards smaller enemy. Why autograb ungrabbable enemies?

Time of occurance: When grabbing around two different enemies. The bigger enemy has grabbing priority (which is usually the enemy you can't grab)

PS3 Model: All PS3s

Version of game: US, Standard (2)

Possible Fixes: None

First Grapple Failure (UNRESOLVED)

Details: During the first grapple near the huge chain the R1 prompt to swing across shows on the screen but it doesn't let you actually use the grapple.

Time of occurance: At the first grapple

PS3 Model: 60GB Fat

Version of game: US, Standard edtion

Possible Fixes: None

"Bridge-Jumping" Freeze *IMPORTANT* (RESOLVED)

Details: "My game is freezing at the "Bridge-jumping" scene after you kill the Poseidon Princess. When I jump into the middle doorway (After being told "This mechanism is broken" twice), my game freezes with the spinning Omega symbol and does not move forward."

Time of occurance: "Bridge-jumping" scene after you kill the Poseidon Princess.

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat

Version of game: US, Standard edtion

Possible Fixes: None found

Chain in Hades Freeze *IMPORTANT* (UNRESOLVED)

Details: "Down in Hades very early in the game after the intro with the titans there is a chain that you need to go hand-over-hand across. YouTube video of the freeze. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmomtIj-UKQ

Time of occurance: Halfway across this chain the game has frozen for me the majority of the time 5x or so. I have once had a freeze in the brief battle before this chain, once during the fight with medusas just after and once while reading paper on the ground directly after the chain. Unable to continue.

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat w. BC

Version of game: Standard US version of game, North America

Possible Fixes: None have been found but I tried loading earlier saves and backing up the saves to do a system restore+quick format, issue remains.

Brain Freeze *IMPORTANT* (UNRESOLVED)

Details: After you drive the sword through Zeus and Gaia, and you are running through the dark to find your family, the sound gets messed up when your daugher starts to say "Mother." After that, "Mother" repeats over and over again until you get to Pandora's box. Once you get to Pandora's box and open it the game freezes. Also, once the audio glitch starts, if you try to pause the game and restart, it will freeze at the restart screen and you have to turn off your PS3 manually to restart.

Time of occurance: When Kratos visits his memories after Zeus and Gaia battle

PS3 Model: PS3 120Gb Slim

Version of game: US, Standard Edition

Possible Fixes: The first thing I did was clean the disc thoroughly but that had no effect on the outcome. The second thing I tried was setting the audio to Dolby, which didn't do anything, then to headphones. After I set it to headphones and restarted the game, the auto-checkpoint still didn't work so I went to the previous checkpoint to fight Zeus before Gaia attacks the platform. This seems to have corrected the issue. How, I'm not very sure!

Loading Problems (UNRESOLVED)

Details: 1.)At the first fight with zeus the game doesnt load in time, so it first affects the music that doesnt start in time. After I died once, the screen turned into white with yellow marks. Then after it loaded a bit, it showed kratos and Zeus in the platform where they fight and after a while the game fully loads and shows the cutscene where kratos throws zeus on the platform. The glitch repeated the next time i died and returned to the checkpoint. Even though it was a heavy loading glitch it didnt effect the continuation of the game.

2.) When I start at the beginning of a new level the sound and voices would overlap itself and then when trying to restart from a checkpoint or quit game to return to the main menu it would freeze. Then when trying to quit the game from xmb it would completely restart the system. Also it would not load game from main menu screen would just be black and have the symbol twirling at the bottem left screen. Game wouldn't load at all when put in ps3

Time of occurance: 1.) First fight with Zeus. 2.) Beginning of every level

PS3 Model: 1.) 60GB Fat, 2.) 80GB Fat

Version of game: 1.) Unknown 2.) US, Standard Edition

Possible Fixes: None. 2.) no fixes at all tried restoring system and deleting saved game data, no game install data because their isn't none so cant delete that, tried letting the game save automatically instead of manually saving and it worked for a while but then it started to freeze while chasing hermes down the wall returned the game in three times at two different gamestop locations still didn't work.

Dialogue Cut Out That Leads to Crash *IMPORTANT* (UNRESOLVED)

Details: After raising the Flame of Olympus using the Muse music mini game I headed down the long winding stare case and opened the chest to get the cyclops eye using the head of Helios. I saved my game and headed down the hall toward the large outdoor arena where Hera is at. Hera speaks then Kratos, then the dialogue cuts out. Background audio and music is heard but neither Hera, Kratos, nor Hercules's dialogue is present. When the battle between Hercules and Kratos begins, the grunts and sfx from the characters can be heard. I paused the game after seeing that the characters lips were moving but dialogue wasn't present, I selected to reload from the last checkpoint and the game crashed. After I restarted the console, I tried reloading the save and the issue still occurred. I once again crashed and restarted the console and tried loading the autosave. The dialogue was present this time for a little longer but still cut out when Hercules appeared and after pausing and selecting to load the checkpoint a crashed occurred again.

Time of occurance: Battle between Hercules and Kratos

PS3 Model: 60GB Fat/BC

Version of game: US/UE

Possible Fixes: XMB continues dialogue for few more seconds but still cuts out

Poseidon's Chamber *IMPORTANT* (UNRESOLVED)
Details: I've run into a game stopping bug apparantly. When you get to poseidon's chamber where you have to rescue his mistress, the very last part of that where you get back to the center room with the crank wheel that opens to the gates is where the problem is. After defeating the two onyx shield soldiers and the statue, the game zooms in on the crank wheel and the woman, but when I walk over to the wheel; no button prompt shows up. I literally can't progress because of this. I've tried reloading the last save file and even using an earlier save with the exact same results. I really would like to not have to start the whole game over because of a random glitch like that which shouldn't happen.

Time of occurance: Poseidon's Chamber

PS3 Model: Slim

Version of game: Unknown

Possible Fixes: none

Jerky Movement (UNRESOLVED)

Details: Well, pretty much character has jerky movement, he runs a little bit and comes to a stop. I let go of joy stick, run again, he comes o a stop. Cant double jump or use icarus wings

Time of occurance: At start of game after intro cut scene.

PS3 Model: 40GB Fat

Version of game: Standard edition

Possible fixes: None so far, returned the game, no luck, rebooted my system. Only thing I haven't tried is a system restore but going through that is a big hassle, would rather wait and see if a patch comes

Hades Palace Freeze *IMPORTANT* (UNRESOLVED)

Details: "Start of Hades Palace. YouTube video of the freeze. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz71WW21Esg

Time of occurance: While fighting enemies on the first or second floor, or opening a pair of chests on the second floor. Unable to continue.

PS3 Model: 80GB Fat w. BC

Version of game: Standard US version of game, North America

Possible Fixes: None that I know of.

God of War 3 Challenge of Olympus

Posted by admin at 3:45 AM 0 comments

God of War 3 Challenge of Olympus Hint - A few of these took me a while to beat and I thought I would share my experience and hints on here for those having trouble with them. If someone else posted something similar already, then forgive me for the repeat, but I didn't see it yet, so here you go, and let me know if it helps. Thanks.

Population Control:
Don't allow there to be more than 50 enemies at the same time. Kill them before too many spawn.

---This is by far the easiest of the challenges. Just smash away at these guys with your Cestus and this should be over real soon.

Bare Hands:
Before time runs out. Kill all the enemies without using weapons.

---I found this one to be quite difficult. You must grab the smaller enemies and ram them into the larger enemies to damage them. (circle, then square). The best way to do this is to just keep grabbing the small guys and ramming the big guys non-stop. DO NOT hit (circle) on them and go through the prompts to kill them. This wastes valuable time. Just keep ramming them till they die. Also, avoid hitting the small guys against the rocks on the side as this also wastes time and only kills the small guy. If you can avoid doing those then you have a good chance if you keep up the pace of ramming them non-stop. Your odds will be increased significantly if you can ram one of the big guys off the platform as this kills them instantly, but this is difficult to do as well.

Get Stoned:
Allow the Gorgons to turn you to stone 10 times without dying.

---This was the hardest for me along with Bare Hands, but I finally did it with this method: Continue rolling and running around the map. I found that the Gorgons will use the green beam to turn you to stone more often if you are far away from them and continuously moving. If you are close to them they are more likely to use a normal attack. When they finally do attack you, hit (L1) to block the attack, but do not hit the next key. Just immediately after hitting (L1) start shaking out of the stone and you will find yourself through it quickly. The first 4 are easy, then those bastards with the double edged swords come. It is OK to use the (L1 plus correct command button) to freeze some of these enemies if you feel overwhelmed, but don't destroy the Gorgons or you will have to wait for them to respawn. My recommendation though is to just speed through it without killing enemies. Especially on the last 2 because when you hit 8 theres a million enemies and your only chance of survival is to get through it as fast as possible before they kill you. So basically keep blocking and shaking out of it as quickly as possible and you should get through it.

El Matador - OLE:
Don't get gored by the Minotaures. Don't get piled on by the enemies.

---I found this one very difficult until I found a nice little strategy. When there is Minotaurs charging you, stand near the edge of the platform, wait until they are close, and then roll off the platform. Kratos will grab onto the edge of the platform and the Minotaurs will go charging over the side. You must time this well though because if you hang on the edge of the platform too long you will fall, so you must pull yourself up quickly. On the small enemies that spawn simply repeatedly hit them with (L1 + square) area of effect attack and you will easily kill them. Hard challenge just became easy.

Knockout:
Score 1000 points by knocking enemies out of the arena.

---Some people said this was super easy and others super hard. I found it in the middle. Took me a few tries but I got it. The key is taking over the initial ogre quickly as that time is wasted just attacking him and not scoring points. If you can start trashing around with the ogre by the 43 second mark at least, then you should be able to achieve this.

Hades Kids:
They don't die, they multiply. Get 5 Cyclops to spawn.

---This one gets very difficult when there are 4 Cyclops around, so here is the key. Kill the first one. Easy. Now you have two. Take down the life of both of them before you kill one. When both are mostly injured. Then kill ONE of them only. This will cause two more to appear making you have three on screen. Now damage the other two that just spawned while not killing the original one that was left. Once you have at least one of the new ones damaged and hurt, then kill both of the damaged ogres together and 4 will drop giving you the win. Just make sure to keep dodging and rolling and take your time and you should get it pretty easy.

Simply Smashing:
Destroy all the urns before time runs out.

---I found this one very hard until I learned the proper attack combo to use to destroy the urns most efficiently. It is by far (square, square, triangle) If you keep in mind where the missing urns are located and continue to use the (square, square, triangle) attacks, you will do well and pass this fairly easily.

For simply smashing, I found it easier to hit square only once, roll, repeat. This attack goes straight out and then curves to the left or right a little before coming back so you can easily knock out 3 to 4 urns in one blow.

Phoenix Feather #9 – Tartarus

Hephaestus’ Ring – The Forge
After Hephaestus tries to trick you, you can find his ring over near the small pool to the left.

Minotaur Horn #9 – The Upper Gardens
This is the ballista and portal puzzle. The first thing you do is turn the ballista 90 degrees to the left and fire. Hop on the rope and make your way through a few portals until you get to a Red Orb chest. Bars block your way so use the opening on that platform. Double jump and glide your way back toward the rope and you should grab it. Continue along the rope and drop down when you reach the end for another horn chest as well as a Red Orb chest.

Gorgon Eye #12 – The Upper Gardens
Now leave the ballista alone and flip the lever over to the right side of the room near the entrance. That will raise the platform the ballista is on. Fire off the missle and follow the rope to the end where you find the eye chest.

Just after the previous room and down the pole. When you land on the ground backtrack a little bit. Previously out of view is the horn and Red Orb chests.

Hera’s Chalice – Olympus Gardens
You can see where Hera throws the chalice in the cut scenes. If you miss this one it’s out of pure laziness. If you missed the cutscene you will find the chalice just a little left of the save altar. When you approach it you will have no choice but to pick it up.

Part 3

Phoenix Feather #11 – Olympus Gardens
From the save altar where you speak to Hera. Go up, if you go to the right there two Red Ord chests. The middle contains one Red Orb chest. The left has some gold dust, shine the light of Helios to reveal the feather chest.

Gorgon Eye #13 – Olympus Gardens
While exploring the gardens you will come to a part where a gate closes behind you in an indoor corridor. You will then have to face off against a few baddies. Once you take them out and get to the other gate open it and keep heading right. You should see two Red Orb chests and some gold dust. Shine the light on the dust to reveal the eye chest.

Minotaur Horn #11 – Olympus Gardens
Once you do the very first optical puzzle and climb up the stairs Echo Chrome style make your way toward the gate. Open it and head down the ladder. Instead of just jumping across the chasm jump to the left where you see the door open. There you will find the next horn chest.

Gorgon Eye #14 – Cavern’s Hidden Passageway
After you have completed the optical puzzle and cross the chasm by way of the harpies. You will come upon a save point with a Red Orb chest in front of it. The opposite platform has gold dust that is hiding an eye chest.

Phoenix Feather #12 – Cavern’s Hidden Passageway
After you go through a corridor and fight off scorpions you will come to an elevator. The feather chest is just before the elevator, to the left.

Minotaur Horn #12 & Gorgon Eye #15 – The Caverns
On the platform right ahead of you when you first get in the caverns. Can’t miss these, however they will be slightly off camera after the battle so don’t forget about them.

Phoenix Feather #13 – The Caverns
After you have revealed the hidden door near the save altar just after the last two chests, you come upon a room with water in it. Jump out and to the right to land near the feather chest.

Minotaur Horn #13 – The Caverns
Instead of doing the verticle Hermes run where suggested keep Helio’s head out. Follow the wooden path over to a stone area with two Red Orb chests with a horn chest between them.

Phoenix Feather #14 – The Caverns
After you obtain the Boreas Icestorm, you immediately use it on that platform to create a heat vent. Glide to the next platform but do not use the Boreas Icestorm on the next lock. Instead jump up to the next platform and you will see some gold dust. Use the light of Helios to reveal a feather chest.

Mystery Chest #1 – The Caverns
After Daedalus mistakes you for Icarus turn immediately to your right. Down the path a little ways are two Red Orb chests as well as a chest that should contain an eye, feather or horn.

Gorgon Eye #16 – The Labyrinth
In the second room you will find some gold dust to the left. Shine the light on it and reveal the eye chest.

Phoenix Feather #15 – The Labyrinth
When you use the Boreas Icestorm it will make the room turn. This feather chest is right next to a Red Orb chest as well as a flame thrower. Only go for one at a time using dash when you crack them open, good luck! Of you can wait until you have completed the puzzle.

Minotaur Horn #14 – The Labyrinth
This one is pretty tricky, it’s in the room with the weight you need to move around to get out. Move the weight to the left most wall near the Boreas Icestorm lock and then trigger the lock. Now move the weight just a little bit towards the camera. Use the weight to jump up to the small ledge there. Now turn around and jump and glide to the next small ledge ahead of you. Finally jump and glide all the way to the other side of the room where a raise platform contains a Red Ord chest as well as a horn chest. VIDEO COMING SOON.

Gorgon Eye #17 – The Labyrinth
Just after you reach the heart of the Labyrinth. Once you exit Pandora’s cage it is to your right. Shine the Helios head where you see gold dust to reveal the chest.

Mystery Chest #2 – The Labyrinth
After saving Pandora from the water trap do not pick her up right away. Instead shine Helios’ head on the gold dust floating to the right.

Phoenix Feather #16 – The Labyrinth
After you fight off the hordes of enemy and protect Pandora shine the head of Helios around. You will find a Red Orb chest to the left side of the room and a feather chest to the right.

Mystery Chest #3, #4 & #5 – Top of the Labyrinth
When you reach the top of the Labyrinth do not immediately follow Pandora. It will initiate a cutscene, make sure you look around first. There are three chests that are revealed via Helios’ head. Just avoid the platform with Pandora on it until you have found them. See the map and additional images below.

Mystery Chest #6 – The Three Judges
After you deal with the gauntlet of creatures that guard the gate, jump across the broken walk way. This should look familiar you will find the chest between two Red Orb chests.

Mystery Chest #7 – The Three Judges
This one is to the opposite of the save altar. You will see some gold dust, use the light of Helios to reveal the chest.

Mystery Chest #8 – The Three Judges
Once you cross through the first portal and fight off the enemies this chest is just to the right of the view point overlooking the three judges. Use the head of Helios to reveal this chest.

Mystery Chest #9 – The Three Judges
After you break the second onyx crystal you will pass through a small tunnel. Immediately to the left is some gold dust, use the light of Helios to reveal the chest.

Mystery Chest #10 – The Three Judges
Before you climb down to take care of the last onyx crystal head to the other portal which is located on the opposite side of the platform you just found the last chest. Go through it for another familiar chest.

Mystery Chest #11, #12 & #13 – Top of the Labyrinth
Back on the top of the Labyrinth do not immediately do the grapple. All the chests you just picked up are there again. Reveal all three chests with Helios’ head. See Mystery Chest #3, #4 & #5 above.

Mystery Chest #14 – Chamber of the Flame
This should all look very familiar on the opposite side of the room there is an identical chain. That little alcove is still there, but now the chests have returned. Also there are two more Red Orb chests behind that onyx crystal.

God of War 3 I Am Become Death Walkthrough - Another great God of War 3 Walkthrough courtesy of VampireHorde. Enjoy reading. Check this page for more God of War 3 Cheats and Codes. Or see all God of War 3 Tutorials.

What it do, nephews! This little FAQ will point all of the aspects of
the E3 Demo. If you haven't downloaded the Demo, do it now! The only
way to obtain the E3 Demo is to either purchase the God Of War
Collection and use the PSN voucher for a download code or purchase the
Blu-Ray edition of "District 9".

NO MORE CHIT-CHAT, FIGHT!!!

No need for me to explain the gameplay aspects! As soon as the game
starts, just start slicing and dicing!

++AREA: OUTER WALKWAY

--OBJECTIVE: OPEN THE SPARTAN DOOR

As soon as the scene ends, bust out lots of hot combos with either the
Blades or the Cestus Gauntlets. Grab the enemy and use them as a
Battering Ram (press the Square Button and run around while holding
them) to clear the first part of the walkway. From there, go around the
corner for more bad guys!

Slice up the baddies to clean out the area and to open the large
double-doors. Enter inside to a dark cavern.

++AREA: DARK CAVERNS

--OBJECTIVE: CROSS THE GAPS USING THE HARPIES

Follow the instructions and shoot the Harpy. When it gets close,
grapple the Harpy and fly towards the next higher ledge. Now go around
the corner and cross the next gap using the Harpies.

You do NOT have to hold the R1+O Button when hanging from the Harpy!
Press the jump button when the next Harpy is close by and Kratos will
automatically jump and grab it.

++AREA: ROOFTOPS

--OBJECTIVE: DEFEAT THE CENTAUR

Make it to the other side of the cavern to the end. Fly to the adjacent
rooftop to encounter another stream of weaklings. Once a whole bunch of
the baddies has been destroyed, a new enemy jumps out!

++NEW ENEMY: CENTAUR
The Centaur enemy is pretty strong and has some tricky spear attacks.
When he spears you, you only have a split second to counter him (using
the Context buttons). If you miss, he tosses you around.

To weaken the Centaur quickly, grab one of the weakling soldiers and
use them as a Battering Ram towards the Centaur. Keep using soldiers as
Battering Rams to weaken him and the CIRCLE BUTTON will appear above
its head for a finisher!

When using the Context Button finisher, press the buttons that appear
onscreen. The buttons appear in the same order as the Controller, so
the Square Button appears on the left side of the TV screen, the
Triangle Button on the top, the Circle Button on the right, and the X
Button on the bottom. Understand it? Defeat the Centaur with a gruesome
finisher to open up the next area.

++AREA: UPPER ROOFTOPS

--MAIN OBJECTIVE: USE THE GIANT STRONGBOW ON HELIOS

After the Centaur is dead, make your way up to the upper roof walkway
to encounter a Titan. Approach the large strongbow to trigger another
enemy battle!

--OBJECTIVE: DEFEAT THE HYBRID BEAST

++NEW ENEMY: SNAKE/LION/RAM THINGAMABOB
This hybrid enemy may seem tough, but you just need to be defensive to
defeat it! The battle is in three parts: you have to kill the Snake
tail, then the Lion's head, and then the Ram's head.

Block the Snake's melee attacks and then counter back with a hard combo.
Repeat this simple tactic and the Circle button will appear above its
head after lots of hits. Grab it and finish it off!

When fighting the Lion's head, use lots of evasive maneuvers! The Lion
likes to use fireballs, so block and then counter. Defeat the Lion's
head and then it'll be just the Ram's head.

The Ram is a bit tricky because it likes to jump away and then charge
at you (because it's a RAM!). Just keep rolling in towards him and
pounding the hard combos until the Circle buttons appears. You know
what to do from there.

Once the hybrid beast is dead, approach the Strongbow and activate it.
Hold for a few seconds and wait for Helios (the flaming one on the
flying chariot) to fly within shooting distance of the arrow and then
fling an arrow at him. If done correctly, Helios will stumble and the
Titan will grab him.

--MAIN OBJECTIVE: FIND HELIOS, THE SUN GOD

--OBJECTIVE: CROSS THE CHASM

Refill on health and then go back down to the rooftops. See those
Harpies across the chasm? Shoot the first one and then grapple it. Jump
from Harpy to Harpy until you reach the other side.

++AREA: OUTER SANCTUM

Defeat all the baddies that show up to clear the area. From there,
enter the large hallway to encounter a larger gang of baddies. Use the
Battering Ram move on all of them to clear them out.

With the hallways cleared, open all the chests for some goodies and
then exit the sanctum outside. Cross the bridge and then jump on the
ledge next to the doorway and climb up.

Shimmy to the other end of the burning building to encounter a civilian.
Press the Circle button to get him out of the way and then press the R1
Button to shimmy down past the open flames. Jump up past the flames and
continue to shimmy towards the end. Jump to the top of the building to
trigger a cutscene.

++AREA: CAVERN ENTRANCE

--OBJECTIVE: OBTAIN THE HEAD OF HELIOS

A group of shielded soldiers will encircle around Helios to guard him.
You can use the Cestus Gauntlets to shatter their defense and break
them apart. After a few combos, a new enemy pops out!

++NEW ENEMY: MEGA-CYCLOPS
The Cyclops is a strong beast and can really frustrate you with its
constant cheap attacks. But all you have to do is stay defensive and
evade behind him. Roll away from its club attacks and get behind him
and then pound those combos!

Another thing you can do is use the soldiers for a Battering Ram.
Destroy their shields with the Cestus and then grab one and use him to
batter the Cyclops. After lots of damage is done, the Circle Button
will appear above its head.

Grab the Cyclops and press the Context buttons to ride that thing! When
Kratos is on top of the Cyclops, he can temporarily control its actions
to attack the soldiers. Clear out the soldiers and then when prompted,
kill the Cyclops with the Context buttons.

When the area is cleared, refill on health and then approach Helios and
press the Circle Button to trigger the kill sequence. When done
correctly, Kratos will rip out Helios's head in a bloody fashion.

--OBJECTIVE: USE THE HEAD OF HELIOS TO FIND THE SECRET PATH

Stand in front of the large rock wall and take out the Helios Head.
Press the Square Button to reveal a metal door behind the wall. Keep
moving the head around the wall until the whole door appears.

--OBJECTIVE: USE THE ICARUS ASCENT AND GET THE HELL OUTTA DODGE

Open the metal doors and enter the darkened caverns. Use the Helios
Head as a flashlight to light the way. Just watch out for some enemies
hiding in the dark!

Search out the remaining chests in the area for goodies and then
prepare to fly outta there! Use a double-jump towards the windy vent
across the chasm to start the next sequence. From there, use the Left
Analog stick to guide Kratos between the wooden beams, dodging large
fireballs, and passing through open gaps. Make it all the way to the
top of the chasm to complete the Demo!

DEMO COMPLETE!!!

Shoot arrows at the nearby Harpy (the second one you used to cross the gap; it should respawn) and coax it towards the ledge you need to reach. The Olympian Citadel
Minotaur Horn - After receiving the Boots of Hermes you'll fight two large, armored Cyclopes outside a large door. Once they are destroyed, run all the way to the left to find two chests. One has Red Orbs inside, the other a Minotaur Horn.

The Forum
Minotaur Horn - Defeat Hercules and you'll find yourself in the waterways below the Forum. After flipping the lever to open the gate by Herc's body, swim out through the gate. When you surface at the other end of the submerged tube, turn around to score some Red Orbs and a Minotaur Horn in some chests hidden in the dead end.

Aphrodite's Chamber
Minotaur Horn - Search the right side of the room for a well-hidden chest in a dark recess along the wall. Inside you'll find a Minotaur Horn.

Daedalus' Workshop
Minotaur Horn - First, jump onto the platform and turn the ballista so it points to the left. Move around to the back of it and use the prompt to fire a harpoon shot through the blue gate on the left. It will shoot out of the higher gate on the left, cross the room and enter the gate on the lower right. It will then emerge from the upper right gate and finally be stopped above a nook with some chests high up on the left wall.

Hop into the blue gate on the lower right and you'll emerge in a cage at the top right. Here you can open a chest for some Red Orbs. Now you'll need to perform a tricky maneuver to get onto the rope leading left since the bars prevent you from proceeding left.

You'll need to hop out towards the screen, then quickly double-jump towards the rope and float to it using the Wings of Icarus. If you successfully make it to the rope you can continue over to your prizes in the nook on the high left side of the room. Open the chests here for a Minotaur Horn and some Red Orbs.
Minotaur Horn - Leave Daedalus' Workshop via the pole leading down. At the bottom of the pole, drop to the ground and run towards the screen. You'll find two secret chests here, one containing Red Orbs and the other a Minotaur Horn.

Hera's Garden / Hedge Maze
Minotaur Horn - After the first time you line up the stairs with the "green view" and access the upper walkway, you'll be able to open a gate on the right and drop to a new area. Across a gap is a pillar you can use to solve elements of the puzzle. You can easily double-jump and glide over this gap, but instead of going straight, pilot your Wings of Icarus through the opening on the left to score a Minotaur Horn.

The Caverns II
Minotaur Horn - Escape Hera's Garden / Hedge Maze and you'll eventually find yourself back in the Caverns. On top of a moving cube you'll fight a large pack of Cylcopes, armored and unarmored. When the cube is cleared of enemies, search it for two chests. One chest contains a Minotaur Horn.
Minotaur Horn - After Hera's Garden / Hedge Maze you'll find yourself back in the Caverns. After riding on the massive cubes you'll enter a series of dark caves. One especially dark and spacious cave has wooden walkways and Medusas in it. Continue to the right after killing the Medusas and jump across the gap to another wooden walkway. Don't take it to the exit just yet. Follow it back into the room (with the Head of Helios equipped) and look for a well-lit lit along the right side of the room. You'll find two Red Orb-filled chests here in addition to a chest with a Minotaur Horn inside.

God of War 3 Phoenix Feathers

Posted by admin at 6:43 PM 0 comments

God of War 3 Phoenix Feathers - Phoenix Feathers can be collected to increase your blue Magic Meter. Collect three to slightly increase your meter. After opening 12 chests with Phoenix Feathers inside, your Magic Meter will be maxed out and any subsequent "special chests" containing Phoenix Feathers will be converted to Red Orbs. Here is a quick-reference list of each Phoenix Feathers. The earliest 12 chest locations are given. Courtesy of IGN. Check this page for more God of War 3 Cheats and Codes. Or see all God of War 3 Tutorials.

The Realm of Hades
Phoenix Feather - After getting the Bow of Apollo, look for a patch of brambles high up at the far end of the room. You can ignite these with a charged shot to allow access to a hidden area. Do so and then pull the hot air-spewing cauldron nearby so you can hitch a ride on the hot air current up to the secluded spot. Here you'll find a chest with Red Experience Orbs inside and a chest with a Phoenix Feather.

Phoenix Feather - After leaving the Three Judges area you'll come to a room with a pyre in that forms a hot-air updraft. the goal of this area is to push an explosive container onto the firey base of the air current. This will make it more powerful. Ride the current up to the platform above and grab it. Crawl around to the top and ride it down. Enter the door it stops in front of. In this room you'll find ample Minions (the arms) to destory for Orbs. One chest here holds more Red Orbs, while the other chest has a Phoenix Feather within. Head back to the current and ride it to the very top of the area.

The Palace of Hades
Phoenix Feather - On the top floor of the Palace of Hades, with a view of the statue of Hades' torso, search the left side of the statue for a ladder leading into a secret area. Look to the right to enter a well-hidden nook behind the huge statue's head to score a Phoenix Feather in a chest.

The Path of Eos
Phoenix Feather - In this dark and narrow series of passages you'll eventually come to a chain/rope you have to use to cross a gap. Instead of immediately hopping on the chain, run off the ledge under it to drop to a secret area. Here you'll find a chest with Red Orbs inside and another chest with a Phoenix Feather.

Phoenix Feather - Just before the sequence in which you fly up the long Chain of Balance you'll battle Wraiths and archers on a bridge. When the blue barriers drop, continue to the right. Near the two supply chests there's an extremely well-hidden chest. Search the obscured area behind the wooden beams and rocks to the left of the bridge and you'll see an R1 prompt appear. Hold R1 to open a chest you can't even see with a Phoenix Feather inside.

The Chain of Balance
Phoenix Feather - While ascending the Chain of Balance, Cronos the titan will attack you. Climb the boards in the shaft constantly dodging the boulders. Move straight up until you are forced to the right. Drop onto the platform with the torch and look for some sparkling dust in the air. Shine the Head of Helios on the spot to reveal a chest with a Phoenix Feather inside.

The Olympian Citadel
Phoenix Feather - After getting the Boots of Hermes, you'll come upon an open area with several large statues. Move up the ramps and hang a right to find more golden footprints. Run up these to the second level and run horizontally across the large sculpted edifice using the Boots. On the other side, search the left corner of the porch for a cloud of sparkling dust. Use the Head of Helios to expose a hidden chest. Inside you'll find a Phoenix Feather.

The Flame of Olympus, Harp Room
Phoenix Feather - In the room with the giant harp, take the updraft up to the platforms on the left side of the room to score a Phoenix Feather.

Poseidon's Chamber
Phoenix Feather - After killing the Posedon Princess, run through the now-open gate and you'll find another bronze statue of Pandora. After the cutscene, look to the right for some shimmering gold particles in the air. Flash the Head of Helios along the wall to reveal a chest with a Phoenix Feather inside.

Tartarus
Phoenix Feather - Enter Tartarus via Hephaestus' Forge. On your way down the curving path, look out for a chest on the right side with a Phoenix Feather inside.

Gates of Tisiphone / Pit of Tartarus
Phoenix Feather - Open the Gates of Tisiphone and head into the Pit of Tartarus. Search the left side of the path just past the massive doorway to score a Phoenix Feather in a partially obscured chest.

Daedalus' Workshop
Phoenix Feather - Pull the lever on the right side of the room. Inside one of the chests is a Phoenix Feather.

+++AREA: GAIA

Re-acquaint yourself with the controls and practice your fighting
skills against the enemies that show up. For faster results, use
Kratos' new ability called the Battering Ram.

To clear away multiple numbers of enemies, grab the one baddie with the
Circle button and then press and hold the Square Button while running
around to use him as a Battering Ram. By using this move, you can clear
out large groups pretty quickly! Defeat the group to trigger a cutscene.

CUTSCENE

After Gaia clears the flaming path, approach it and press the R1 Button
and then rapidly tap the Circle Button to lift the tree trunk. Clear
out all the enemies in the way and then work your way up the hill to
meet a new sub-boss!

--SUB-BOSS BATTLE: LEVIATHAN - PART 1

This giant horsey-crab hybrid may look like a toughie, but with your
skills, it's just a walk in the park. To damage the enemy quickly, use
double jumps and attack from the air. Dodge the horsey's water breath
by rolling away to the left or right.

Continue to damage the horsey until the next part where Kratos hangs
from the ceiling. Move towards the horse and continue to swing at it
while moving from its claw swipes.

When the perspective changes again, climb UP the wall to the top and
continue to damage the horsey with hard attacks. As you continually
damage it, the horse will finally keel over and the Circle Button will
appear above its head. Activate the Context Buttons to start the first
SPECIAL ATTACK Sequence. Press the FOUR buttons that appear onscreen to
complete the battle.

+++AREA: MT. OLYMPUS

Climb to the right side and work your way to the top of the area.
Approach the chest to obtain some goodies. Now use the Ledge Climb to
traverse along the nearby ledge to the other side.

As Gaia takes damage, continue to shimmy the ledge to the next area.
Disperse the baddies waiting for you by using the Battering Ram move to
clear out the area.

Take the nearby ladder to the top of the cliff with more enemies. Again,
use the Battering Ram move to clear them all out. Open the GREEN chest
if you need to and then jump to the nearby ledge and use the GRAPPLE
move to jump to the other side.

Clear out more enemies with the Battering Ram move and then take the
ladder up. Climb up and then jump to the left to grab the ledge. Shimmy
all the way to the left. Climb up all the way to the top to trigger a
cutscene with Gaia.

+++AREA: TOMB OF ARES

Unfortunately, you cannot help Gaia from this ledge, so continue up the
path and use the ICARUS GLIDE and float to the next ledge. Open the
giant door to enter the Tomb Of Ares.

A new enemy emerges from inside: the Guardian Centaur! To avoid getting
badly damaged, use defensive tactics. Block his attacks and then swing
a bevy of hard attacks to damage him quickly.

After a series of hard attacks, the Circle button will float above the
Centaur's head, so activate the SPECIAL ATTACK sequence and press the
FOUR Context Sensitive buttons to kill him off. Clear out the remaining
baddies by using them as Battering Rams.

--PUZZLE: THE ELEVATOR PUZZLE

If you can't figure this simple puzzle out within a few seconds, then
you must be relatively new, otherwise, this one is a cinch! Activate
the nearby lever to move the elevator platform. Climb the ladder to the
top and get on the platform. When it moves to the next side, double-
jump off to find the very first SAVE POINT!

SAVE GAME

Work your way up the hall and open the metal gate. The Leviathan's claw
will come crashing down, so rapidly tap the Circle Button to fend it
off and trigger the next battle.

--SUB-BOSS BATTLE: LEVIATHAN - PART 2

For this battle, you'll have to watch out for the horsey's giant claws.
Use lots of hard attacks while dodging those claws. After lots of
damage, the Circle Button appears, so activate the SPECIAL ATTACK and
press the THREE Context Buttons and then rapidly tap the Circle Button
to destroy the claw.

The claw will be sitting on the let side of the screen but DO NOT
access it yet! Continue to damage the horsey while dodging its water
breath and claw swipes. Use a mixture of aerial attacks to damage it
faster! After more damage is caused, activate the SPECIAL ATTACK and
rapidly tap the L1+R1 buttons to open up its chest.

Approach the large claw and the swing it towards its chest to end this
part of the battle.

+++AREA: HEART OF GAIA

The area is empty, so just approach the next area and shimmy between
the cracks to the other side. Climb and shimmy through the branches
until you reach Gaia's heart.

--PUZZLE: THE ROTATING STONE PUZZLE

See that shining object on the right side wall? Grab hold of it and
pull the giant rock wall out. Rotate the wall 180 degrees (use the
Right Analog Stick) and then move it to the left side of the area.
Place the wall in between the empty crevasse to solve the puzzle!

Now climb the vines to the top and then grapple to the next area. Climb
to the top to encounter more enemies. Clear them out and continue down
the path to find more vines.

Jump and grapple higher while clearing more enemies all the way to the
top to trigger the first boss battle!

=======================================================================
=======================================================================

--BOSS BATTLE: POSEIDON

First thing's first, damage the giant claws on the left and right side
of the area. Watch out for Poseidon's electric attacks and claw swipes!
Damage all the claws to trigger the next sequence.

Grapple on to Gaia's hand to face Poseidon. Dodge his Trident and wait
for him to pull away. Attack him with hard combos while dodging his
attacks. After lots of damage is dealt, Poseidon will keel over, so
climb to the top above his head (use the nearby cliff) and activate the
SPECIAL ATTACK.

Press the TWO Context buttons and then rapidly tap the Circle button
and then ONE more Context button to trigger the second sequence. Damage
the claws until they are all off. Grapple THREE times and then press
the Context button to complete the battle!

--OBJECTIVE: KILL POSEIDON

Activate the SPECIAL ATTACK sequence and press the SEVEN Context
Buttons to beat Poseidon to a bloody pulp. Complete the sequence by
pressing the L3+R3 Buttons to end the battle.

=======================================================================
=======================================================================

Approach the Save Point to save your progress.

SAVE GAME

Jump onto Gaia's hand to trigger the next cutscene.

CUTSCENE

+++AREA: THE RIVER STYX

As you swim the river, Kratos will lose all of his abilities. His
health will be cut in half and his magic will completely be taken away.
Swim to the other side and walk to the next area.

+++AREA: REALM OF HADES

After the cutscene, use the grapple to the next area and clear out the
enemies. Use Kratos' new move called the Grapple Pull to gain an edge
on the enemies. The Grapple Pull is a great move for bigger enemies and
can slow them down. Press the L1+Circle Button to grapple in closer
with a shoulder ram.

--ITEM: GORGON EYE
In this area with the non-working portal, there is a Gorgon Eye chest
at the bottom! There is a set of vines just near where you landed from
the grapple point. Slide down the vines and find the chest around the
corner for a Gorgon Eye!

Clear the area of the baddies and approach the Save Point.

SAVE GAME

There are two areas to explore. The area on the left contains a series
of chests. If you want to grab those items, then do it. Otherwise,
continue on to the right side to encounter a series of enemies.

--OBJECTIVE: USE THE ARMY OF SPARTA TO CLEAR THE AREA

In this sequence, Kratos will have temporary Infinite Magic, so summon
forth those Spartan boys and use them to kill off all the enemies that
appear. From there, jump up to the large chain and shimmy to the other
side. Kill off all the enemies on the chain and jump to the platform.

Collect all the goodies and then continue down the platform towards the
large double-doors. Open the large doors to encounter a familiar enemy.

++AREA: GORGON ARENA

This battle consists of a Gorgon and lots of lackeys. Use defensive
rolls to roll away from her Gorgon stare and use blocks for her tail
swipes. Damage her with hard combos and then kill it off with the
SPECIAL ATTACK.

Kill off both Gorgon enemies and then clear out the other baddies in
any way you want. Open the doors and enter the next area. Traverse the
cave and enter the next area.

++AREA: PEIRITHOUS CHAMBER

In this area, you'll find Peirithous bound to a chair behind a wall of
Bramble (red roots) and a caged fire-breathing Cerberus on the other
side. Yup, it's time for your first REAL puzzle!

--PUZZLE: THE BURNING BRAMBLE PUZZLE

First, jump up the ledge and jump on the large platform above
Peirithous. This will lower the platform and open the gates on the
other side.

See that ledge across from you? Glide on towards that ledge to find a
large wicker pot of Bramble. Grab the wicker and push it out to the
floor below. Now drag the wicker pot towards the fire-breathing
Cerberus and place the pot in front of the cage to light it up!

Leave the burning bramble near the cage and go back to the platform
above Peirithous. Jump on the platform to open the gates above the
caged Cerberus. From there, quickly run towards the cage and use the
burning Bramble to float higher towards the open cage above.

Now activate the lever to open the Cerberus cage. Jump down and damage
the Cerberus until the Context buttons appear. Press those buttons and
Kratos will mount onto Cerberus!

Guide Cerberus towards Peirithous (burn all the enemies in the way) and
use a fireball attack on Peirithous to complete the puzzle and gain a
new weapon: the BOW OF APOLLO.

From this point, Kratos can use the Bow Of Apollo to burn any bramble
that he sees. Press and hold the L2+Square Button to fire up a charged
arrow and then release it to burn off the bramble.

--ITEM: PHOENIX FEATHER
There is a Phoenix Feather inside the Peirithous Chamber! At the other
end near the Cerberus cage, there is some Bramble above one of the
cages, do you see it? Fire a charged arrow at it to burn off the
Bramble and then use the smoke from the wicker to float higher. Glide
towards the newly opened ledge to find the PHOENIX FEATHER.

Exit the chamber and burn off the Bramble to reveal the Save Point!

SAVE GAME

--ITEM: MINOTAUR HORN
Enter the next area to see some chests and some Bramble. Shoot an arrow
at the Bramble to find a chest with a Minotaur Horn! From there,
continue up the hall to the next area.

--OBJECTIVE: KILL THE HARPIES

A bunch of flying rodents will appear in this area. Use grab moves to
make short work of the harpies. Grab them on the ground and grab them
in the air to kill them faster.

When the area is cleared, continue down the hall and jump and glide to
the bottom platform. From there, shimmy on the walls to the top of the
area, BUT WAIT!

--ITEM: GORGON EYE
As you jump from wall-to-wall, you will see a waterfall on the LEFT
side, do you see it? As you reach the top ledge, shimmy all the way to
the left and jump over the waterfall to find a chest with a Gorgon Eye!
AWESOME! Now go back to where you were and shimmy all the way to the
top of the area.

Climb your way to the top and then jump and climb the large pillar to
the next area.

+++AREA: JUDGES OF THE UNDERWORLD

Jump and grapple towards the next platform and approach the circular
plate and inspect it.

--OBJECTIVE: COMPLETE THE THREE TRIALS OF EREBUS

Approach the pedestal with the book and read it to start the trials.
All three trials consist of the same thing: kill, kill, kill!

During the trial, you will encounter a new big enemy: the Minotaur.
These guys are quite tough and like to use uppercuts. But the quickest
way to dispatch them is to use the Combat Grapple attack.

Press the L1+Circle button to grapple onto the Minotaur and ram him
with your shoulder (followed by hard combo attacks). When prompted,
kill him off by rapidly tapping the Circle Button. Complete all three
trials by killing all the Gorgon, Minotaurs, harpies, etc.

From there, approach the circular plate and step on top of it to
trigger a cutscene.

CUTSCENE

After the cutscene, approach the Save Point on the left side.

SAVE GAME

Enter thru the portal on the right side to enter the top of the area.
There is nothing to do in the upper area, so simply make your way to
the other side.

Slice down the Minotaurs that show up and continue past the gaps until
you reach the Bronze statue.

CUTSCENE

Jump towards the large chain and shimmy to the other side. There are no
enemies here, so keep going and then jump down to the ledge. Continue
down the path and shimmy in between the large crevasse to the other
side. Work your way up the hall while eliminating some baddies until
you reach a dead end.

--PUZZLE: THE FLAMING HOT ELEVATOR PUZZLE

First thing's first, shoot a charged arrow at the Bramble to light it
up. Jump on top of the hot heat and glide to the top of the area.
Eliminate the enemies that appear and then activate the lever to bring
down the elevator.

Quickly jump on the elevator and then exit the upper ledge. Towards the
wall is a large Bramble wicker pot. Grab that thing and pull it out.
Slice up the baddies and then jump down to the elevator below.

Activate the lever again and jump on the elevator. Grab the wicker pot
and slide it to the elevator. Again, slice up the enemies that appear
and then drag the wicker pot and kick it to the lower area (with all
the smoke) to light it up even more! Now jump down to the bottom and
then glide up to the platform above to lower it.

--ITEM: PHOENIX FEATHER
Climb to the top of the platform and open the door in front of you. A
big gang of demon hands will block your way, so slice them down and
then approach the two chests for goodies including a PHOENIX FEATHER!

Now go back out and glide all the way to the very top of the area.
Traverse the halls and go all the way to the top.

+++AREA: PIT OF TARTARUS

Approach the pedestal and read the book. After you read the book, all
the statues with the hammers will come to life! These Hammer dudes are
quite strong but only have limited attacks.

Kratos can block their Hammer swipes if he isn't countering. To defeat
them, use the Grapple Pull+Square button to make short work of these
guys. Be defensive when fighting these guys and they should be no
problem to defeat. Just be sure not to press the wrong Context button!

When the area is clear, continue down the stairs to a new area.

+++AREA: THE FORGE

Make your way up the stairs to encounter Hephaestus.

CUTSCENE

After the cutscene, make aright turn to find the Save Point.

SAVE GAME

Activate the nearby lever to open the door at the bottom of the stairs.
Make your way downstairs to the large rotating room. Rotate the crank
all the way until it stops at the Bramble blocking the way (there is
another secret area you can access when rotating the crank that
contains a whole bunch of dogs and two chests).

--OBJECTIVE: OBTAIN THE BLADE OF OLYMPUS

Shoot the Bramble with an arrow to clear the way. Navigate the path all
the way to the bottom to trigger a cutscene.

CUTSCENE

With the Blade Of Olympus on hand, activate the RAGE OF THE SPARTANS
and destroy all the enemies that show up. When the area is cleared,
jump down to the bottom and grapple towards the Save Point. Clear out
the enemies first and SAVE if you need to.

--OBJECTIVE: OPEN THE DOOR OF HADES

As you make your way towards the large doors, use a charged arrow to
burn the Bramble blocking the doorway and to trigger a small battle
with two Cerberus dogs.

These dogs aren't so tough! Simply abuse the Grapple Pull+Square Button
attack while blocking their fireballs. Use Context buttons to kill off
both mongrels. From there, open the doors and enter the next area.

More baddies and doggies will show up for a party, so slice them down
to clear them out and then open the doorway and head up the stairs.

+++AREA: PALACE OF HADES

--PUZZLE: THE HADES STATUE PUZZLE - PART 1

This puzzle comes in two parts (that's what she said). First, you need
to open the doorway on the second floor. There is a large wheel on the
left side of the room and a large crate of flat tiles on the right side
of the area.

Grab the crate of tiles on the right side and drag it towards the large
wheel. Kill off the harpies and then activate the wheel to open the
doors on the second floor. From there, quickly grab the crate of tiles
and place it UNDER the wheel so that it doesn't rotate back.

Climb up the large white tree and jump on the second floor. Enter the
doorway to trigger some Minotaurs and other baddies. Slice them all
down to clear the area. Make your way up the halls to the third floor
with the Hades statue.

--PUZZLE: THE HADES STATUE PUZZLE - PART 2

And now comes the tedious part. Rotate the crank to bring up a coffin.
After the cutscene, press the R1 button to activate ladders on both
sides of the room. Eliminate the enemies to clear the area first!

--ITEM: PHOENIX FEATHER
Before you do anything, take the path to the left and all the way to
the back. There is a hidden ladder that leads to the top of the statue
where you will find a chest with a Phoenix Feather! Now jump back down.

Take the ladder on the LEFT side of the room and climb it to the top.
DO NOT touch anything in the room yet! Instead approach the nearby
lever to lower the platform back to the first floor.

Open the metal gate and grab the crate of tiles (slice up the Harpies
first) and drag the crate back to the platform and then pull the lever
and go back up.

At the top, drag the crate near the large wheel. From here, go back
down to the large crank and rotate it. Quickly climb the LEFT ladder
again and activate the wheel to clasp Hades' right hand. From there,
quickly drag the crate of tiles UNDER the wheel to keep it from moving.

WHEW, now for the right side of the room! Go back down towards the
crank and rotate it all the way around. From there, take the ladder on
the RIGHT side to the top. Activate the nearby wheel n the room to
solve the puzzle!

From here, I suggest you go back down to the first floor and SAVE your
game because the next part will be a boss battle.

SAVE GAME

With the puzzle solved, approach the coffin in front of the pedestal
and press R1 to open up the path and trigger a boss battle!

=======================================================================
=======================================================================

--BOSS BATTLE: HADES

After the cutscene, rapidly tap the L1+R1 buttons to avoid getting your
soul stolen! The battle with Hades is a 5-part affair, so be ready for
a lengthy and brutally bloody battle!

Hades has a big collection of attacks in his arsenal. He uses his claw
weapons and likes to use his stomp attack. A lot. All of these simple
attacks can be evade and blocked, so be ready roll away from him when
he starts flinging the claws.

--HADES SPECIAL ATTACKS
Hades also has FOUR (count 'em, FOUR) Special attacks that he uses.

GRAPPLE ATTACK
The first one is his Grapple attack. After damage is dealt to him, he
grapples to the ceiling and jumps down for a tremor attack. To avoid
damage, double-jump just before he lands on the floor.

HELL AWAITS
The second Special move is his "Hell Awaits" chain attack where he
summons a billion chains from the floor. To avoid damage for this one,
the entire floor will turn black except for one small area. Quickly
roll towards that little area to avoid getting shanked.

CHAIN SPIKE
His third Special attack is his Chain Spike attack where he sticks both
chains on the ground and spikes protrude all over the arena. To avoid
damage for this, simply run around in a circular motion until he stops
the attack.

SOUL SUMMON
For this attack, he summons three floating heads to come after you.
Simply attack these souls to disperse them.

--BOSS TACTICS PARTS 1-3
The battle with the Hades starts off as a 3-part battle followed by two
more waves. To damage him properly, abuse the Grapple Pull+Square
Button attack. Dodge all his attacks I mentioned above until the
Context button appears.

Approach him and rapidly tap the Circle Button to rip out a shred of
his skin. After the skin chunk is ripped out, quickly approach that
piece of flesh and destroy it! From there, continue to dodge Hades'
attacks and repeat this strategy TWO more times!

--BOSS TACTICS PARTS 4-5
After the third time, Kratos and Hades will enter a tug-of-war match
with their weapons. Keep using hard attacks (while avoiding getting
thrown into the water) until the Circle Button appears above his head.

Press the Context button and rapidly tap the Circle Button to end the
fourth wave. With the Hades Claws in hand, slay all the soldiers that
appear and Hades will appear ONE more time.

In the final wave, evade Hades' hand attacks by grappling behind. Use
the Grapple Point on the upper left or right sides and get behind him
and pound all those combos on him. There's no tricky part, so just
damage him until he keels over. From there, complete the Context
buttons to defeat Hades!

=======================================================================
=======================================================================

After the battle with Hades, Save your game!

SAVE GAME

--SPECIAL ITEM: HADES' HELM
Dive into the water and swim all the way down to the bottom to find the
HADES' HELM item! Now swim to the other side and jump out.

--OBJECTIVE: USE THE SOUL SUMMON ATTACK

Clear out all the baddies using the Soul Summon Magic. Once that's done,
dive into the water and swim to the next area and dive out. Activate
the lever and then swim to the other side and dive out back to the
Forge area.

+++AREA: THE FORGE

--OBJECTIVE: GET THE HELL OUTTA DODGE

After the cutscene, make your way back down the stairs of the Forge to
the rotating crank room. As you rotate the crank, the Hammer dudes will
come to life, so clear them out with your hot Hades weapon! Clear them
out and then rotate the crank all the way around.

Exit the area and jump and grapple towards the open portal on the other
side of the Realm. Clear out the archers and then approach the portal
to return back to Olympia.

+++AREA: THE CITY OF OLYMPIA

--OBJECTIVE: RELEASE GAIA

Make your way around the bridge to encounter Gaia. After the cutscene,
approach her arm and slice it off. From there, clear the path by
shoving her hand outta the way to clear the area. Approach the doorway
to trigger a battle.

--OBJECTIVE: OPEN THE DOOR TO OLYMPIA

A whole bunch of Olympian enemies will appear. Slice down every single
one of them and the doors will open. Enter inside to a dark cavern.

++AREA: ROOFTOPS

Make it to the other side of the cavern to the end. Glide towards the
adjacent rooftop to encounter another stream of soldiers. Once a whole
bunch of the baddies has been destroyed, a Centaur jumps out!

To weaken the Centaur quickly, you can use the Grapple Pull attack OR
you can damage one of the soldiers and then grab and use them as a
Battering Ram towards the Centaur. Keep using soldiers as Battering
Rams to weaken him and the Context buttons will appear! Defeat the
Centaur with a gruesome finisher to open up the next area.

++AREA: UPPER ROOFTOPS

--MAIN OBJECTIVE: USE THE GIANT STRONGBOW ON HELIOS

After the Centaur is dead, make your way up to the upper roof walkway
to encounter a Titan. Approach the large strongbow to trigger another
enemy battle!

--OBJECTIVE: DEFEAT THE CHIMERA

This hybrid enemy may seem tough, but you just need to be defensive to
defeat it! The battle is in three parts: you have to kill the Snake
tail, then the Lion's head, and then the Ram's head.

Block the Snake's melee attacks and then counter back with a hard combo.
Use the Grapple Pull +Square Combo for more damage. Repeat this tactic
and the Circle button will appear above its head after lots of hits.

Just Grapple Pull to get closer to him
and pound the hard combos until the Circle buttons appears. You know
what to do from there.

++AREA: OUTER SANCTUM

++AREA: CAVERN ENTRANCE

--OBJECTIVE: OBTAIN THE HEAD OF HELIOS

A group of shielded soldiers will encircle around Helios to guard him.
After a few combos, a new enemy pops out!

++NEW ENEMY: MEGA-CYCLOPS

After
lots of damage is done, the Circle Button will appear above its head.
Grab the Cyclops and press the Context buttons to ride that thing! When
Kratos is on top of the Cyclops, he can temporarily control its actions
to attack the soldiers. Clear out the soldiers and then when prompted,
kill the Cyclops with the Context buttons.

When the area is cleared, refill on health and then approach Helios to
trigger a cutscene.

CUTSCENE

--OBJECTIVE: BLOCK THE SUNLIGHT

After Helios screams "Feel the power of the Sun!" Kratos will not be
able to see in front of him. Use the Right Analog Stick to move Kratos'
right hand to block the sunlight. Keep moving his hand to block the
bright light until Kratos moves in closer for the kill.

When he's close, use the Context buttons to kill Helios and rip out his
head. From here, you can use the Helios Head to find secret chests and
secret paths! Woo-hoo!

--ITEM: MINOTAUR HORN
Whenever you see floating gold dust in a certain area, use the Helios
Head and shine a bright light to reveal a secret chest. Speaking of
which, there is some gold dust just across from Helios' dead body. Use
the Helios Head to reveal the chest with a Minotaur Horn!

--OBJECTIVE: USE THE HEAD OF HELIOS TO FIND THE SECRET PATH

Now stand in front of the large rock wall behind Helios' dead body and
take out the Helios Head. Press and hold the L2 Button to reveal a
metal door behind the wall. Keep moving the head around the wall until
the whole door appears.
