How to Switch Warcraft Versions - Here's how you can switch to different versions of Warcraft. This is very helpful when you want to use an older version of Warcraft but your Warcraft installation gets automatically updated to Warcraft 3 TFT v1.26.0.6401 aka 1.26a, but you want to use 1.24e on b.net. Then what you can do is use WVS or Warcarft Version Switcher to switch between warcraft 3 versions.

How to Switch Warcraft Versions
What is Warcarft Version Switcher (WVS)?
Very simple, just like the name states, WVS is a tool that allows you to switch between different versions of Warcraft 3.

With WVS, you may switch Warcraft from 1.26 to 1.25b, 1.25a, 1.24e, 1.24d, 1.24c, 1.24b, 1.24a, 1.23a, 1.22a, 1.21b, 1.20e

Note: With WVS, you may switch Warcraft from latest to older version and vise versa.

How to Use Warcarft Version Switcher (WVS)?
1. Download WVS (stripped version : ~600KB)
2. Download TFT Version x.xxx.zip file (x.xxx refers to version number)
3. Extract WVS in the Warcraft root folder.
4. Copy (or move) ALL the TFT Version x.xxx.zip files inside of the folder WVS. this folder is not the one you have extracted WVS but the one inside it. in other words,
   4a. find the WVS.exe file
   4b. there should be a folder WVS in the same folder as the exe file
   4c. place your version zip files inside of that WVS folder.
5. Run WVS.exe
6. If it can't find your wc3 folder, show it manually
7. Hit the switch version button
8. Double click the version you want to switch to.

Note: When ever you need to switch version, do step 5, 7 and 8.




Note: Many of you think replacing the Game.dll, Storm.dll and war3.exe are the version files i.e. copy/paste/replacing them is enough for switching version. this is not true. there's another file (war3patch.mpq) that is also updated with every version. and this is the reason the version zips are ~30MB.

It is true that without changing the war3patch.mpq, you can run wc3, but it is not recommended. it might result in a fatal error every now and then.

DotA Mash Key Download - by using this program the inventory hot key will change to:

alt q = 7
alt w = 8
alt a = 4
alt s = 5
alt z = 1
alt x = 2

This is a somewhat better hotkeys for dota.

1. Simply open the application.
2. Open Frozen Throne and by just holding the alt key, letter Q=7, A=4, Z=1, W=8, S=5, X=2. That is all.

How to use

Version Switcher

- If your war3 folder is not automatically detected, select it clicking on "magnifying glass" icon;
- Download the wanted version clicking on "Download more versions" and click in "Where to put version file?" and put the downloaded file in this folder that will open. [ ATTENTION : NOT UNZIP THE FILE, PUT IT IN THE .ZIP TYPE! ];
- Recommended save your actual version first before switching to another, first put your current version in the box "Version" then click in "Save Current Version";
- Now select your wanted version in the list and click in "Switch to selected version" and you are done!";



Others functions

- So, i not have many things to explain, you only need change what you want and you not need click anywhere to save, it will be saved automatically.

PS: If you change your resolution in program, NOT CHANGE ANY CONFIG INSIDE OF WARCRAFT, OR IT WILL CHANGE YOUR RESOLUTION BACK TO WAR3 DEFAULT ONE...

Dota Mana Bars - A Warcraft tool by Lynn that allows you to see mana bars along with health bars. You may use this tool in LAN games and it will work out fine. It really helps when you're Anti-Mage or Nerubian Assassin. However, many people reported that this causes Warcraft to crash when playing on Garena and B.Net and many tournaments might ban use of this tool as it provides you with an advantage over the enemy. So I wouldn't suggest using this on Garena and B.Net at the moment. It's worth trying on LAN anyways.

Warcraft 3 Reconnection Tool for Server and Client - this is the official release of final client and server versions. It's easy to setup the configuration of this version in order to use it on LAN, simply create admin game, go to admin game, type "!password YOUR_PASSWORD", "!map" to load the map, "pub GAME_NAME" to create the game, then join the created game... This tool is not a solution for leaver in Garena even if they can reconnect back, they will not do it because leaver usually don't want to connect back to the game that they are losing.

This is the Server side tool..! The game has to be hosted using this tool for the reconnect feature to be used.

Version 17.0 is a new feature release. It contains the first version of the necessary code to allow reconnections to GHost++ games using a client side tool. The client side tool will be open source and will most likely be released on or before the weekend, but isn't quite ready yet and therefore is not available for download at this time (It is released.. see below). Please consider updating your GHost++ bots with this code if you plan to use the reconnection feature in the future.

Please be aware that the reconnection feature is new and may still have some kinks that need to be worked out.

This is the Client side tool. Players will have to use this if you want to use the reconnect feature on a server hosted by GHost++ 17.0.

This is the first public test release of the GProxy++ reconnection tool. Please keep in mind that this tool is the initial version. As with the early hosting bots, this is the initial technology that will be used as a base to expand from and grow in the future. Be patient if there are bugs or features missing.

As of right now, Throneit.com and DotaPub.net already support this protocol. It will take some time for other servers, platforms and tools to update to support this protocol, but the tool (and the server) are open source. There are already various platforms and communities working on expanding on these features and integrating them. Anyone is free to use the source code to improve their services for the community. The tool is currently set up to connect to battle.net/pvpgn in LAN mode, but can be modified to be used with many different platforms.

This specific version of the tool (GProxy++) is a "disconnect protection" tool for use with Warcraft III when connecting to specially configured GHost++ servers (GHost++ Version 17.0 and newer only). It allows the game to recover from a temporary internet disruption which would normally cause a disconnect.

When you start GProxy++ for the first time it will ask you to enter some required information such as your CD keys and battle.net login information. This information will be saved to the plain text configuration file "gproxy.cfg" which can be edited with a text editor whenever you wish. GProxy++ runs in console mode (text only) - this was done for simplicity and in order to ensure it can run on as many operating systems as possible such as Linux and OS X.

GProxy++ works by connecting to battle.net and requesting a list of games and then displaying those games on the LAN screen of your Warcraft III. Any games which support GProxy++ reconnections will show up in blue and all other games will show up in white. You will need to connect to a "blue" game in order to be protected by GProxy++. Note that GProxy++ doesn't automatically start displaying the public game list, you will need to use the "/public" command to do this. If you want to join a private game you will need to tell GProxy++ to look for that game with the "/game My Game Name" command.

If your internet connection is lost GProxy++ will attempt to reconnect to the GHost++ server every 10 seconds. In most cases the other players will be presented with a lag screen and they will wait for you to reconnect. However, there is a time limit to the reconnection which is chosen by the server operator and which defaults to 3 minutes. If the reconnection cannot be completed in this time limit you will be dropped from the game.

Since you must join the game from the LAN screen your Warcraft III will not be directly connected to battle.net and therefore whispers and battle.net notices will not be sent in the usual way. GProxy++ will relay whispers to and from you but it cannot make those whispers show up in green therefore they will appear as chat messages originating from you. Due to the way Warcraft III handles replies, you must use the "/re" command instead of "/r" to reply to a whisper, but beware that if someone else whispers you while you are typing your reply the reply will go to them instead of the intended recipient.

As a final note, please keep in mind that GProxy++ is new and may have bugs. If you run into any problems please have patience and let us know on these forums. In addition, if your community/platform supports reconnections, please post on these forums or send me a PM so we can be aware of it for further announcements.

GHost++ Custom Build is quite similar if not identical to GHost++. I try and incorporate useful patches from around the forums here so none of you have to, but a lot of them were so useful that Varlock added them officially. Right now there are only a few things that the custom build has that GHost++ doesn't.

This is Ghost++ 17.0 with a User Interface or GUI.

GHost One is now a major modification of the official GHost++ source. GHost One was originally a Graphical User Interface for GHost++, also referred to as a Wrapper, meaning it was a program that launched GHost and interacted with it. Although GHost++ was very good there were many changes that both myself and others in the GHost community wanted. One of these things was a GUI.

Commands and Features:

If you use the multiple GUI/bot feature,
make sure you set different values for each GHostOne instance for these variables:

Dota Replay Manager 2.05 Latest Release - this the latest release with player statistics, replay search, auto-copy, and replay browser. This also has a lot of changes and bug fixes. Download link can be found at the end of this article...

Here is a brief overview of features in the program:

  • Explorer-like replay browser (tree view+list fiew) with functions for copy/paste/drag-and-drop, delete/rename and creating folders.
  • Auto-copying new replays (from LastReplay.w3g) and batch copying
  • Replay search with a lot of options like game name, length, map version, player names and heroes.
  • Can load replays from internet if filename starts with http:
  • Player statistics (type "Player:PLAYER_NAME_HERE" in path bar)
  • Analyzes game lobby screenshots to build a list of players (doesn't really work, might update at some point)
  • Shows replays by hero



Replay parsing features

  • DotA data is fully loaded from the map, so if the program happens to be missing some info you will be prompted supply a map file to read data from
  • Displays game information like date, patch, map, game name, host, saver, length, players, score, winner and observers.
  • Displays player list with level, buildcost, stats, lane, APM (actions per minute) and leave time.
  • Colored chat view, probably works with other languages (tested with russian)
  • Timeline view - displays roughly *estimated* hero movement over time - an animated version of the replay with many features.
  • Hero builds - skills and items
  • Action charts - including different action types, group hotkeys used, and APM over time graph.
  • Gold and experience timeline graphs
  • Presentation tab - format the replay in plain text mode, forum BB codes or HTML, for example to post a replay in replays forum.
  • Shows -cd pool and bans/picks for -cd/-cm
  • Shows a detailed action log with graphical information where possible, for you mech nerds (and TDA RAs)


I have included pre-parsed data for many maps, but if you try to open a replay and there is no data for the map used in that replay, you will be prompted for an action:



  • "Copy data" options will duplicate data from another version, which is generally undesirable but may be useful if you do not have that specific map (e.g. if the replay was for 6.38 and you only have 6.38b, you can safely assume that the relevant data is similar in those two versions).
  • "Load data" will parse the map for data, which takes several seconds. "Load data from map used in replay" will look for the map used in the replay, make sure it is located in your WC3 maps folder.
  • "Save data for this version" means that after parsing the data will be stored, otherwise it will only be used to parse one replay and then will be discarded. You will usually check this box as well.
  • "Always perform the selected action" will store the choices you just made and use them every time a new map is found. Currently there is no way to uncheck this box if you stored the choices once.

Generally you would choose "Load data from map used in replay" and check both boxes.

  • Added assists to game chat (disabled by an option in Settings), note that dota is bugged atm and doesn't store this information correctly
  • Removed the 8192 size limit on cache; gamecache now uses game date/time as a key instead of filename, this should remove duplicate replays, there is a very low chance that two different replays have the same date/time. As a side effect gamecache file may grow very large, delete it and cache replays again if it causes trouble
  • Fixed hero chart to show correct heroes and games
  • Added game mode filter to hero chart (suggested by tk1)
  • Added buildings to Timeline view, they should correctly disappear when they are destroyed. Timeline view is now resizable, map image has been updated to the latest version. Dead heroes now disappear correctly
  • Fixed odd time marks in graph views (e.g -0:58 to -1:00)
  • Added PlayDota smiley tags for items (assuming urn will be :urn: when it is added)

I recognize that there have been a lot requests for features and bug fixes in GHost++ over the past few months that I haven't responded to in the main forum. I intend to go through and incorporate some of those requests in the next few versions. This release is just to get things started on the reconnection project.
